of gastrointestinal problems, lacerations and other skin disorders such as psoriasis
and can be found in many skin care products.
The seeds of the plant contain alkaloid ricinine and toxalbumine ricin. They
yield a fixed oil, which is used chiefly for medicinal purposes, both internally
and externally. The glycerides of ricinoleic acid in castor oil are mainly
responsible for its purgative effect and therefore it acts as a laxative by
stimulating both the large and small intestines and can help guard against
intestinal inflammation and worms.

Recommended Daily Intake
Adults and children over 10 years of age, one to two capsules daily. In extreme
cases can take up to four for the first day and then reduce to one or two
capsules daily. As part of a calorie controlled diet or slimming program
for adults take one capsule daily. Do not exceed recommended daily intake
unless advised by a suitably qualified person.
Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet.
