Absolute Aromas Rose Absolute Oil
Rose Absolute Oil is sourced from Morocco and has a rich, intensely sweet, floral smell. The oil is a dark yellow to amber in colour.
For a deeply moisturising night-time facial preparation, blend 4 drops Rose, 3 drops Lavender, 1 drop Roman Chamomile and 2 drops Geranium in 30ml Peach Kernel Oil. Gently massage in to the face and neck.
For a refreshing and uplifting bath, blend 2 drops each of Rose, Frankincense and Sandalwood in 10ml Coconut Oil and swirl into a warm bath and let the aromas stimulate your senses.
Rose has been highly prized for centuries and there are over 10,000 varieties cultivated across the world, many of which are used in toiletries.
It's very difficult to extract oil from the rose petals: the primary way is to use a solvent extraction of the 'concrete' which is then turned into the Absolute. Distillation produces the essential oil. Production of an Absolute gives a higher yield, but the distillation process creates a much finer fragrance.
This type of Rose Absolute is also known as Rose de Mai Absolute. Rose has long been referred to as the Queen of the Flowers and is a very popular component of toiletries and fragrances.
